Shutter Curtain

SHUTTER CURTAIN

Constructed from individual cold rolled sections made from 22 gauge, galvanised steel the standard lath is the 75mm curved, (other laths available) Its curved design ensures strength, sections held together in place by specialy formed nylon endlocks.

Bottom Rail

BOTTOM RAIL

Constructed from cold rolled steel T - section to give rigidity and strength. Optional rubber seals further reduce water engress.

Roller Assembly

ROLLER ASSEMBLY

Constructed from steel tube of sufficient diameter to resist deflection with strong helical springs to counterbalance the weight of the curtain during operation.

Barrel secured via steel cups fitted between formed steel plates.

Guide Assembly

GUIDE ASSEMBLY

Guide assembly is of sufficient depth to withstand normal wind loadings. The exact size varies depending on the size of the opening. Guides are formed from cold rolled channel sections secured to the opening by continuous steel angles, or from specially designed pressed steel section to give additional protection from high winds.


LOCKING

The standard locking is via bullet locks.

A vertically arranged manually operated roller shutter available with either solid or perforated curtain.

Opening height up to 2500mm, opening width up to 2500mm.

Shutter weight: 35 kg/m² of door opening.

Curtain

Constructed from 75mm galvanised cold rolled scroll sections of suitable gauge, each alternate lath is fitted with a steel endlock to prevent lateral movement and wind anchor locks on larger doors. The perforated version has multiple micro circular perforations.

Bottom Rail

The base of the curtain is fitted with a steel angle reinforcing rail of adequate size forming an inverted ‘T’.

Side Guides

Formed from cold rolled mild steel channel sections secured to the opening structure by full height mild steel fixing angles.

Roller Assembly

Constructed from mild steel tube fitted with counterbalance high tensile helical springs, mounted on bright steel shafts running in ball races, reduction drive gearing where applicable is by machine cut steel gears or chain drive to suit the size of the opening.

Endplates

The roller assembly is supported by mild steel endplates with mounting angles for fixing to the support structure.

Roller Enclosure or casing (optional extra)

Formed from galvanised pressed sheet metal to enclose the rear of the shutter barrel and curtain assembly.

Operation

Manual hand pull up and down operation.

Locking

Side guide pin locks and or Central bottom bar lock

Finish

All parts not galvanised are painted in one coat of grey protective primer. Or powder coated to any standard BS or Ral number.
