Speed and security

The quick action roller shutter EROS Ultra combines the advantages of an aluminium roller shutter with those of a PVC roller door. A fully functioning external shutter with resistance to weather and wind forces, break in protection and good heat insulation, it opens at a speed normally only achieved by PVC roller doors - more than 2 metres per second.

Components & Construction

The door is made from extruded aluminium slats with approximately 20mm double walled insulation. Right and left sliding pieces and noise deadening rubber profile between the slats. Easily installable side frames consisting of galvanised steel sheet painted to order (or available in stainless steel for the food sector). The drive is provided by a drive motor connected directly to the winding shaft. Side tension springs integrated into the frame support the drive motor and ensure the weight of the shutter is balanced and operational noises are considerably reduced.

Roller door construction
• the side rails are made from galvanised sheet steel
• the side rails are easily assembled
• also available in stainless steel for the food industry
• the roller door is driven directly by a geared electro-motor
• the drive is scarcely loaded thanks to the integrated draw springs side rails
which balance the weight of the door.
Door shutters / door tension
The door shutters are made from extended aluminium and are provided
with plastic guide pieces on both ends. A special rubber profile is slid
between the shutters to deaden the sound of opening and shutting.
Furthermore the integrated draw springs keep the roller door shutters
under tension. Through this unique combination the usual “roller door noises”
have almost disappeared.

Operation
The frequency regulated operation enables a soft-start and
a soft-stop. The opening and closing times of the door
can be programmed as wished by means of the frequency
converter.
The operation offers the opportunity for a lock
function, connecting to traffic lights or connecting
to neighbouring installations and controls.
The operating status or any breakdown
reports can be read from the uncoded text
screen on the display which can be found on
the door of the switch box.

Manual operation
• the door can be opened with an emergency handle when there is a power
cut
• an emergency release on inside of the door is an option
• the door has been built in accordance to EN 13241-1 and equipped with an
electronic safety contact strip and safety photo cell
• local circumstances may require extra safety features that go further than
is legally prescribed such as: light curtains, induction loops, radar, vertically
adjustable photocells, warning flashing lights, traffic light installations and
other safety elements. These can all be connected without problem.
