Components and construction
The Guardian Speed Clean Room is a door without balance springs, consisting of an electrically driven door curtain rolled up on a roller above the opening. The door curtain is made of horizontal sections of polyester-reinforced PVC. The sections are fitted with aluminium 'sealed-in' reinforcement profiles. The door curtain has a transparent
PVC vision section between approx. 1000 and 2000 mm height. The bottom ofthe door curtain has an aluminium bottom beam with rubber sealing profile. A U-shaped profile with rubber seals ensures the guidance of the door curtain. The side guides are one unit combined with the bearing plates for the fastening of the roller and drive.
Materials
The lateral guide is made of two stainless steel profiles with sealing rubber removable for installation and maintenance. The horizontal roller is steel. The bottom beam is aluminium. The door curtain is 1.2 mm thick PVC with a polyester reinforcement inlay.
Colour
The door curtain is available in the colours blue (standard), red, grey, orange, yellow, black or white and provided as standard with a vision section.
Dimensions
- max. width ................................................................. 4000 mm
- max. height .................................................................5000 mm
- max. wind force ........................................................ 5 Beaufort
- lateral space not drive side (roller height)......................... 160 mm
- lateral space at the drive................................................. 310 mm
- lateral space at the drive for fitting ...........................min. 550 mm
- lateral space at side guide profiles ....................................110 mm
- space above ..................................................................575 mm.
Drive
The drive consists of an electric motor with reduction unit and builtin roll-off safety. The roller is directly driven.
Control and operation
• the door is supplied as standard with a control box with 3 buttons (open-stop-close) and a CEE plug.
• the control system regulates a multitude of functions such as:
- adjustable open time or so-called ‘deadman operation
- service and run mode
- LED indication for control of the various functions
- choice of permanently open or permanently shut.
Other forms of operation that can be connected to the standard control box are:
• operation by pull switch, key-operated switch, push-button, photocell, radar, induction loop detection or by radio control with transmitter and receiver. Other forms of operation onrequest.
Protection
• the door can be manually opened in the case of a power loss
• the bottom beam has a self-testing bottom safety edge that stops the door and immediately opens it again if it comes into contact with an obstacle when closing; this protection is insensitive to humidity.
• on the lateral guide profiles a safety photocell and reflector are fitted as standard (250 mm from the floor). The door will not close if the beam is broken
• the drive has built-in roll-off safety.
Performance
The opening and closing speeds are approx. 2.0 m/s.
Structural provisions and connection
• in normal circumstances no special structural provisions are required for the assembly and fitting of a Speedroller
• for the electrical connection there must be a wall socket within 500 mm of where the control box will be positioned (CEE form 3~NPE/400V/50Hz/16A). As standard this is fitted at a height of approx. 1500 mm from the floor on the drive side.
• for a control box with frequency control there must be a wall socket within a radius of 500 mm of where the control box will be positioned
(CEE form blue, 1 x 230V fused, slow operation 16 A and fitted with an circuit-breaker of at least 300 mA). As standard this is fitted at a height of approx. 1500 mm from the floor on the drive side.

Upgrades
Control and operation
• control by frequency control where:
- max. opening speed .............................................................1.5 m/s
- max. closing speed.............................................................0.75 m/s
• operation by push-buttons, pull switches, photocell, radar, induction loop or by radio control
• ‘half height’ setting (for personnel access)
• door interlock control in combination with another door
• other connection values than 3N~400V/50Hz/16A.

Why have your door and shutter systems maintained?
- It is a legal requirement - as failure to show evidence of maintenance could mean prohibition & enforcement notices being served and fines up to £5000 and imprisonment for 2 years. 'Safety In Use', the New European CEN Standards legislation - States that all types of door should be maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair. For further clarification visit www.dhfonline.org.uk.
- Routine maintenance prolongs the operational life of the installation and ensures that the installation is kept in good working order.
- It ensures that the door is working in a safe and efficient condition - helping to prevent accidents and damage which in turn results in down time, effecting work flow, productivity and resulting in loss of revenue.
- It assists in identifying potential problems which can easily be rectified.
