Components and construction

The Guardian Speed Economic is a door without balance springs, consistingof an electrically driven door curtain rolled up on a roller above the opening. The door curtain is made of horizontal sections of polyester-reinforced PVC. The sections are fitted with aluminiumreinforcement profiles. The door curtain has a transparent PVC vision section between approx. 1000 and 2000 mm from the floor. On the underside of the door curtain there is an aluminium bottom beam with rubber sealing profile. A U-shaped profile with brush seals ensures lateral guidance of the door curtain. The lateral guides are one unit combined with the bearing plates for the fastening of the roller and drive.

Materials

The lateral guide is made of two hot dip galvanised steel profiles with brush seals. These are removable for fast and simple installation and maintenance. The horizontal roller is steel. The bottom beam is aluminium. The door curtain is a 0.7 mm thick PVC with a polyester reinforcement inlay with vision section.

Colours

The door curtain is available in the colours blue (standard), grey, orange, green, yellow, black, red or white, including transparent vision section.

Dimensions

  • max. width .........................................................................3000 mm
  • max. height ........................................................................3500 mm
  • max. surface area......................................................................9 m2
  • max. wind force ................................................................3 Beaufort

Drive

The door is driven by an electric motor with reduction unit. The roller is directly driven. Drive side as specified right (standard) or left.

Control / operation

open-stop-close controls

Other Options

push-button, pull switch or radio control with 1-button hand transmitter.

These all have the following functionality: first time of operation, the door opens; second time of operation, the door closes

radio control using 3-button hand transmitter with open-stop close function.

Performance

The opening and closing speeds are approx. 1.0 m/s.

Protection

manual opening in event of power loss

the bottom beam has a multilene ‘anti-crash’ function (without emergency stop).

Structural provisions and connection

In normal circumstances no special structural provisions are required for the assembly and fitting of a Guardian Speed Economic EM with the standard drive there must be a wall socket for the electrical connection within a radius of 500 mm of the drive (CEE form 3~NPE/400V/50Hz/16A)

for a control box with frequency control there must be a wall socket within a radius of 500 mm of where the control box will be positioned (CEE form blue, 1 x 230V fused, slow operation 16A and fitted with an circuit-breaker of at least 300 mA). As standard this is fitted at a height of approx. 1500 mm from the floor on the drive side.

Technical details electric motor

Why have your door and shutter systems maintained?

  • It is a legal requirement - as failure to show evidence of maintenance could mean prohibition & enforcement notices being served and fines up to £5000 and imprisonment for 2 years. 'Safety In Use', the New European CEN Standards legislation - States that all types of door should be maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair. For further clarification visit www.dhfonline.org.uk.
  • Routine maintenance prolongs the operational life of the installation and ensures that the installation is kept in good working order.
  • It ensures that the door is working in a safe and efficient condition - helping to prevent accidents and damage which in turn results in down time, effecting work flow, productivity and resulting in loss of revenue.
  • It assists in identifying potential problems which can easily be rectified.
