GENERAL PURPOSE STEEL DOOR - GP
Better Built Doorsets
Designed for both internal and external use on commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects the Guardian GP door has been cycle tested for 200,000 operations and is manufactured to the ISO9001 Quality Assurance Standard.
A 45mm thick, constructed from two skins of galvanized steel bonded to a structural honeycomb core.
The vertical edges of the skins are folded to create a full height, bevelled edge with interlocking seam for increased panel strength and rigidity.
The void between the two skins is in-filled with a bonded honeycomb core material, selected for its compression & torsional load performance.
The hinging edge is reinforced by steel hinge mounting plates welded within the leaf, and the lock mechanism is installed within an inner enclosure to facilitate is removal for future maintenance or replacement
On externally located double doors an astragal is fitted to one leaf to ensure positive sealing at the centre.
16g zinc coated steelfolded to form a double or single rebate profile.
Frame sections are pressed from galvanized steel to form a double (standard) or single rebate profile. Headers are profiled to form a smooth, butt joint with the full height vertical posts and headers include bolt fixing for positive engagement.
Uprights are reinforced with steel plates at all hinge & lock points.
Shallow depth thresholds are available at extra cost, either as folded steel or extruded aluminium sections.
Frames are arranged for bolt fixing to any suitable opening structure.
Vision panels are available in a range of standard rectangular and circular sizes.
Door leaves and frames receive one coat of self etching primer, as standard, for site painting. Alternatively, they are supplied factory finished in any standard BS or Ral colour. Specialist paint systems to suit coastal/chemical environments and foodsafe applications are also available.

It is a legal requirement - as failure to show evidence of maintenance could mean prohibition & enforcement notices being served and fines up to £5000 and imprisonment for 2 years. 'Safety In Use' - the New European CEN Standards legislation - states that all types of door should be maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair. For further clarification visit www.dhfonline.org.uk.
Routine maintenance prolongs the operational life of the installation and ensures that the installation is kept in good working order - helping to prevent accidents and damage which in turn results in down time, effecting work flow, productivity and resulting in loss of revenue. It assists in identifying potential problems which can easily be rectified.
